Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna has endorsed Deputy President William Ruto’s presidency ahead of the August, 9 General Elections.
In an update on his social media pages, the lawyer urged his supporters to back DP Ruto, terming President Uhuru Kenyatta’s way of ruling as tyrannical.
“Oh, yes, I just endorsed William Samoei Ruto for President of Kenya, on August 9, 2022
“Kenyans must permanently bury the tyrannical machinations of despot Uhuru Kenyatta, conman Raila Odinga and their merchants of impunity,” Miguna said.
Speaking during an interview during his trip to the United States, the deputy president said he will ensure Miguna returns to the country if he is elected president.
He noted that the exiled lawyer is a Kenyan, and if he has broken any laws or committed any crime, there are laws that can be used to charge him within Kenya.
“We will bring back Miguna Miguna immediately. This is because he’s Kenyan and even if he has committed a crime, we have laws in place that he would be tried against..
“I don’t see any need for having refugees from other countries while our very own is a refugee in another country,” DP Ruto said.
This comes a month after Miguna declared his intention to contest for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming elections.
In an interview, the embattled lawyer argued that despite being deported, he is still entitled to the right to vie for the seat.
“I intend to run for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat. I am a registered voter and I can run for office,” Miguna.
Miguna contested for the same seat during the 2017 elections contested but lost to former Governor Mike Sonko.
