Police in Meru County have launched a manhunt for prison warder who is reported to be on a mission to assassinate his wife over KSh 900,000 loan dispute.
According to reports the officer, Edwin Omuse attached at the Kangeta GK Prison was heard vowing to kill his wife once he finds her.
In a police report, one Benjamin Ndunda who heard about Omuse’s plot reported to Igembe Central Police Station in bid to save a life.
He revealed that he had spotted Omuse with his G3 riffle around Kangeta business centre and had hidden it in a sack a headed to Thika to kill his spouse.
“Prison warder Edwin Omuse stationed at Kangeta GK prisons that today (Tuesday, August 24) at around 5.pm was sighted within Kangeta trading centre while in possession of a G3 rifle hidden in a sack.
He was heard saying that he was heading to Thika to kill his wife who defrauded him cash amounting to KSh 900,000 which he had acquired from a bank loan,” the statement read in part.
It was further reported that his gun was loaded with 20 rounds of ammunition.
Police officers have since commenced a manhunt for the prison warder before he kills his wife or harms anyone else.
