Matungu MP Justus Murunga Makokha is dead.
The lawmaker died on Saturday night, November 14 after collapsing at his Kakamega home.
According to reports, Murunga passed away while being attended to at the St. Mary’s Mission Hospital in Mumias.
Confirming his death, the MP’s cousin Musa Ekaya said that Murunga was discharged from the Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu, on Friday, November 13.
The lawmaker was receiving treatment for diabetes and COVID-19 at the hospital.
“When he arrived at his Matungu home, his diabetic condition deteriorated and was rushed to the St. Mary’s Hospital in Mumias, where he died today evening,” Ekaya said.
Reports added that he had tested negative upon release.
