Late MP Lorna Laboso’s son Marco Laboso on Wednesday night, May 19 revealed how he learnt about her mum’s death.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKL, Marco who doubles up as Daystar University Students’ President said he was doing his homework when he heard his sister wailing from their living room.
The clueless 9-year-old Marco asked her sister what had happed to which she asked him to pray without further explanations.
He was, however, later informed that their mum had died in a plane crash.
Lorna died in the plane crash that happened on June 10, 2008 along with Minister of Roads Kipkalya Kones.
The plane crashed into a building in Kajong’a market near Nairagie Enkare in Enoosupukia, Narok District after taking off from Wilson Airport in Nairobi.
The two leaders were flying to Kericho to help with the organization of logistics for ODM candidate Benjamin Langat in the by-election that was scheduled to be held in Ainamoi Constituency on June 11.
Following his mother’s death, Marco was raised by his foster parents the late Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso and Edwin Obonyo.
Joyce succumbed to cancer on 29 July 2019 at the Nairobi Hospital.
Recently, Marco made headlines after being freshly elected Daystar University Students Association president.
He later put up an appreciation post saying he was humbled by the privilege to show leadership courtesy of his comrades’ belief in him and his agenda.
”Thank you all for your support. I am ready to serve Daystarians diligently,” Marco stated.
