Man confesses to selling lover’s KSh 5.7 vehicle after argument

A man recently sparked reactions after confessing to selling his fiancé’s posh car after a brief argument.

Speaking to an investigating officer, Paul Wangari, 32, said he sold his lover’s KSh 5.7 million Toyota Prado Land Cruiser after disagreeing with the lover while in Shanzu, Mombasa.

“Did you tell the police what you’re telling me?” Asked Milimani Chief Magistrate, to which Paul answered, “Yes I told the police but did not believe me.”

According to a police statement, the suspect said he met his lover Hellen Akinyi at a bar on Mombasa Road in 2019 and started a relationship thereafter.

Paul confessed to using her motor vehicles since they were in a relationship and in February 2021, Akinyi sent him to supervise the renovation of her house in Shanzu.

“I took her motor vehicle as usual which she fueled for me, and sent me KSh 80, 000 to carry out repairs of the car while in Mombasa,” Paul said in his statement.

While in Mombasa, they argued over the phone and Kihika decided to sell the car to get money to solve personal problems he was facing.
