Three boys recently sparked reactions after wearing skirts to school to protest a ban on wearing shorts.
Led by Adrian Copp, 15, the students wore Asda skirts to school to protest the unfair policy enforced despite the hot weather.
According to a report by the Mirror, the teens decided to wear the skirts because the school allows all students to wear skirts regardless of gender.
The report further indicated that the boys will wear the skirts for the rest of the week hoping that the school will allow male stidents to wear shorts to school.
“I found it a lot cooler definitely. It’s really uncomfortable wearing trousers in this heat, We were removed from classes and banned for socialisation for 24 hours but we were let go because they couldn’t find anything to pin us on,” said Adrian.
Susan Lehane: 70 years ago small boys were only allowed to wear shorts all year round. this was regardless of the weather. Man made rules often are so foolish. Image wearing shorts to school when is 0 degrees
Martin Wilson: I told my lad to do this a few years ago but him and his mates wouldn’t. Fair play to these youths
Ali Magor: Absolutely fantastic lads, so brave. This rule is so wrong and I hope it gets changed for you. Totally wrong. Be proud lads
Gillian Dale: Well done, you lads. Some rethinking definitely needs to be done. Ideas about (especially girls’) school uniforms are stuck in the 1950s
