Lofty Matambo: Swahili news anchor quits KTN after 7 years

KTN swahili news anchor Lofty Matambo called it quits at the Standard Media Group owned station after a seven and a half years stint.

The renowned journalist announced his exit from the station on Sunday,April 18 in an emotional speech during his last bulletin.

Matambo thanked his listeners for always giving him total support and also thanked the Standard Media Group for the opportunity.

He noted that while joining KTN he was an amateur but with time he learned a lot and gained more skills.

For seven and a half years you have allowed me into your living rooms without knocking and you welcomed me with a smile. 

My supporters you’re worthy as gold, let us continue to value each other even outside of the newsroom and we will meet again pretty soon,” he added.

The news anchor did not however disclose his next move but all in all good luck to him.

According to TUKO, Matambo has done and completed an interview to move to NTV and everything was set.

This comes just weeks after fellow swahili news anchor Fridah Mwaka exited KTN

The TV personality announced her departure from the station during her last Broadcast on Sunday, March 21.

Mwaka thanked her viewers for always supporting her during the period she worked at the station and further said that it was her pleasure working for KTN

She noted that it was time for her to pursue other interests.

Mwaka asked her fans not to get emotional as she promised that they will always meet and interact on other platforms or even on the streets.
