There is no doubt that ODM leader Raila Odinga is endowed with the gift of garb and is always a pleasure to listen to him addressing rallies.
That was the case on Thursday, March 3 when Raila shared a light moment during a rally in Kisii after complaining that campaign banners were preventing beautiful ladies from seeing him.
The former Prime Minister who is seeking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta was in Kisii for campaigns ahead of the August 9 General Elections.
It was during the rally when Raila asked supporters waving Azimio La Umoja banners to put them down for the cameras to get clear coverage of the rally and for the ladies to see him.
“Those who have campaign banners put them down. They are barring the cameras from taking photos and the beautiful ladies cannot also see me. Put them down, the ladies should see me properly,” he said amid laughter from the crowd.
Raila will face his fiercest political rival and critic, Deputy President William Ruto, in the forthcoming polls.
President Uhuru endorsed Raila for the presidency during the recent meeting at the Sagana State Lodge where he noted that the ODM leader has the best interests for the country.
He added that he will have no problem supporting Deputy President William Ruto in future but only if he reforms.
“I appeal you to support Raila. Help him to the top. Even my friend Ruto, can become president someday akishika line. Tushikilie huyo Mzee (Raila) mara hii, huyo kijana (Ruto) tutafikiria baadaye
“Let’s hold the old man’s hand and if the other young man also reforms, I have not stopped anyone from supporting him,” Uhuru said.
