Kisii: Man prints parents’ obituaries, death certificates to solicit funds from US friends

A Kisii man who lives in Texas, USA shocked many after printing his parents’ fake obituaries and death certificates in order to collect burial contributions from his friends based in the US.

According to a report by People Daily, Kenfrey Ondabu colluded with people in Kisii to print the fake documents which he then sent to his friends.

Kenfrey made it seem so real that he even shared photos of men digging a grave which he said are for his parents.

However, his dirty scheme hit a dead end after one of his friends learnt that his parents were alive days after travelling to Kenya from the US.

While addressing the matter, Kenfrey’s father Zacharia Ondabu said he was not aware of his son’s evil idea of conning his friends by ‘advertising’ their deaths.

He further called on the police to conduct investigations on the whole matter.

“We want to know who printed the papers lying that we were dead,” said Zacharia.
