Kenyans react as DP Ruto’s daughter is engaged to Nigerian man

Kenyans have reacted to news that Deputy President William Ruto’s daughter, June, is officially off the market and engaged to a Nigerian man.

According to reports, June was engaged to her boyfriend, Alex Ezenagu, at a colorful ceremony held at her father’s Karen home, also referred to as ‘The Hustler’s Mansion’.

A report by Kenyans.co.ke indicated that Soy MP Caleb Kositany was leading dowry negotiations, while popular MC Robert Kemei was emceeing the ceremony.

News of DP Ruto’s daughter getting engaged to a Nigerian man elicited mixed reactions with a section of netizens expressing concerns at the rate at which men from the ‘Igwe’ land sweeping Kenyans beaus.

In a separate story, celebrated Kenyan gospel singer Emmy Kosgei, who is married to a Nigerian man took a swipe on Kalenjin men for being shy in approaching women.

This, she said after revealing that no Kalenjin man has ever approached her for a romantic relationship let alone asking her hand in marriage.

Speaking during a virtual interview on Facebook with one Alfred Koech, Kosgei hit out at Kalenjin men whom she termed as introverts.

“There is no Kalenjin man who came to me and told me they want to marry me. This is why sometimes one sees something is good but fails to speak up

“An example is a pan, you feel like having it but you do not put it in actions and when the pan is taken away by another person, you start questioning why,” she said.
