The Orange Democratic Movement Party leader Raila Odinga recently got Kenya worried about his health after he confused the late former Kibwezi lawmaker with politician Kalonzo Musyoka.
The former prime minister was corrected twice after he referred late Kalembe as Kalonzo during the former’s burial.
“Kalonzo was someone who was a development-oriented leader…sorry Kalembe…I have come here to offer a message of condolence from Ugandan president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Museveni knew Kalonzo very well in my hometown of Bondo…sorry Kalembe,” Said Raila.
Kenyans on social media, who came across the video speculated that Raila must have been unwell. Others noted that he was too old it was his time to retire.
Here are some of the comments.
@eastleighpundit: “Is Raila Odinga okay?”
@Andrew: “He is not okay my friend…on several occasions lately, he’s becoming exactly like HE Mwai Kibaki.”
@Dennis Mokaya: ” Baba is tired and won’t have the energy to push through the vigorous campaigns.”
@Kevin Anyango: “He had COVID-19. Science says there could be long side effects! It’s never normal to confuse a name of a dead person with the living. This isn’t a joke!”
@olegunersoldier: “I don’t see anything odd here, even a young man can confuse similar names, Baba is very sharp and okay, based on his speech during Madaraka Day.”
