A Kenyan woman has celebrated after building his parents a three-bedroomed house.
Celebrating the milestone, Julie Mutahi, recalled her childhood days revealing that she was raised in poverty and she would rarely have a decent food.
She noted that her desire was to make sure that she would one day build her parents a decent home.
The mother of two said she started the project some few months ago after saving from her business.
Julie said she had some savings amounting to KSh 400,000, and decided to head back home to surprise her parents.
“I approached a friend of mine with my idea who also told me the money would be enough. I thus went to the village to surprise my parents and share with them my plan,” she said.
However, after starting the project, her funds depleted at the foundation stage leaving her wondering whether she could complete the house or not.
A stressed Julie travelled back to Nairobi hoping to raise enough money to complete the house project.
She worked harder in mitumba business with her mother praying for her while encouraging her to push on.
“With my job of selling clothes, I did well and I sent home every profit that I made. My mother was also fasting and praying while also checking on me,” she added.
Julie worked hard and after five months the house had taken shape and she eventually finished building it.
“Within five months, I finished this house and I opened it with the church and my parents are so happy,” the excited lady said.
