Kate Actress Explains Why She Missed Fenty Beauty Launch

Actress and entrepreneur Kate Karanja has explained why she missed Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin products launch event in Kenya. 

The launch was held on Thursday, May 26 and hraced by local influencers and celebrities. 

Through her Twitter page, the actress explaines that she missed the launch due to an alleged conflict of interest. 

Not so long ago, the mother of two launched her own lip care line dubbed, House of Humba supposedly making it impossible for her to grace the launch. 

“Not me missing the Fenty launch because of a conflict of interest. I mean, is #HouseofHumbaCosmetics a joke to you. Big dreams. Mark this tweet *#SaveYourCenty,” Kate wrote on Twitter.

Two weeks ago, Rihanna, the Barbados singer and billionaire businesswoman announced that she was set to launch beauty and skin care products in the Kenyan market.

The singer said the cosmetic products will be available in the Kenyan market starting May 27.  

“I have been waiting for this moment! Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin are finally dropping in Africa! Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe… We coming at you May 27th and that’s just the beginning,” she wrote on Twitter.  

Rihanna has partnered with Lintons, one of East Africa’s leading distributors to stock her Fenty products.

Founded in 2008 by Dr Joyce Gikunda and Edward, Lintons Beauty World, has 30 shops spread across across Nairobi, Mombasa and Kampala, Uganda.

Their stores in Nairobi are located at the Junction, Village Market, Hilton Arcade, Garden City, Westgate Mall, Galleria and Yaya Center among others.
