City politician Karen Nyamu sparked mixed reactions after suggesting her baby daddy, musician Samidoh to replace Mzee Jackson Kibor as men’s conference chairman following the latter’s death.
The mother of two made the suggestion while mourning Mzee Kibor who passed away on Wednesday, March 16 at St Luke’s Hospital in Eldoret where he was receiving treatment.
“Men’s conference chairman Jackson Kibor is no more. I have received the news of his passing on with great sadness. He is a man we all loved for his humour and interesting personal life
“Go well boy child’s general. Rest in peace. So who do you think will feel Mzee’s vacancy? I haven’t mentioned Samidoh,” Nyamu wrote on Facebook.
Samidoh is Nyamu’s baby daddy and they share two children; a boy and a girl.
Her statement sparked reactions with some supporting her while others suggesting older men such as COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli.
George Kihwaga: May our chairman soul rest in peace, 21 gun salute, all flags half mask for 14 days. Replacement this is men’s affairs keep off.
Purity Shiro: And Samidoh was just chilling then boom. Rest in peace, chairman.
Joecombz Kalatu: For your information, this thing is not given to kids, neither is it given to adolescent people. This is an old men’s position. Definitely, Atwoli will be the heir.
Chris Dot Comly: Karen! You say you haven’t mentioned Samidoh. Anyway, we will consider him. In the meantime my condolences to the family of mzee Kibor. May he sleep well.
Shish Shisha: Generals never die, they fade away. My condolences to the entire family and baba Njeri is enough.
Hailed by a section of Kenyan men as a masculinity symbol, Kibor would trend during Valentine’s Day as men embarked on the imaginary men’s conference they would be attending chaired by the businessman.
The three-day meeting is aimed at empowering the boy child and it is normally held in uttermost secrecy in an undisclosed location to outsiders.
The idea of the men’s conference was in a bid to avoid responsibilities on Valentine’s Day and create a safe haven for men who don’t wish to spend on the said day.
The conference is usually proceeded over by Mzee Kibor, relationship coach Amerix and media personality Andrew Kine among others.
