Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka will back ODM counterpart Raila Odinga in the August 9 General Elections.
The former Vice President made the statement on Thursday, June 2 at the Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka Centre.
Kalonzo also announced that he had accepted his nomination as Chief Minister in the Azimio-One Kenya coalition.
“After wide consultation with party leadership, the clergy and the professionals, I have decided with humility and appreciation my nomination as a chief minister in the Azimio-One Kenya coalition,” said Kalonzo.
The Wiper Party leader further congratulated Martha Karua for her nomination as deputy president nominee of the coalition.

This comes a week after Kalonzo was barred from contesting by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The electoral agency reportedly locked out Kalonzo from the presidential race after he failed to meet the commission’s technical requirements.
As required before any presidential aspirant is cleared, the former vice-president did not present the list of his supporters in the Microsoft Excel sheet.

He also did not satisfy IEBC’s strict demands of 48,000 supporters in at least 24 counties, presentation of the supporters’ names and printed copies of their national identity cards.
