The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is investigating an incident where unknown gunmen opened fire at a businessman killing him in broad daylight.
According to reports, Sudhir Shah was sprayed with bullets while in the company of nine people along Thika Road.
The nine were directors of Ndarugo Plantation 1960 Limited based in Juja.
The directors had concluded a meeting at the company headquarter and proceeded to a coffee plantation when the gunmen ambushed them.
The gunmen were riding on a motorcycle.
Former Internal Security minister John Michuki’s son, Francis Michuki was among the nime directors.
It is said that when the gunmen approached the nine, one of the gunmen ordered them to lie down but Michuki’s bodyguard who was armed at the time defied and started shooting at the attackers.
A fierce fire exchange ensued shortly before Sudhir was sprayed with bullets with the attackers fleeing from the scene thereafter.
Sudhir was rushed to Thika Central Memorial Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
