Former Royal Media Services Editorial Director Joe Ageyo has joined Nation Media Group.
An internal memo signed by Group Chief Executive Officer Stephen Gitagama said Ageyo joined NMG as the Editorial Director – Broadcasting.
He will be reporting to the Editor-in-Chief with a dotted reporting relationship to the Executive Director – Transformation.
“He will be an integral part of the leadership team and he will participate in the development and execution of the Group’s editorial functions of NMG’s broadcast operations in Kenya across multimedia platforms,” the memo read in part.
Ageyo will resume his new role at NTV on Friday, April 1.
“Please join me in welcoming Joe back to NMG, and in congratulating him on his new appointment. I am confident that you will accord him the support required to succeed in this role,” the memo further read.
His new appointment comes days after quitting RMS where he worked since 2018 following the exit of his predecessor, Lands CS Farida Karoney.
“I wish to announce that Joe Ageyo who has for the last four years served the RMS as Editorial Director is leaving the company to pursue other interests,” an internal memo read in part.
According to the memo, Joe holds an MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Manchester and a post-graduate degree in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi.
He also holds a Bachelor of Agribusiness Management from Egerton University, certificates in Sustainability Management and Environment Diplomacy from the University of Tilburg, the Netherlands and the University of Geneva, respectively.
