The chief executive officer of the Equity Bank James Mwangi is prepared to build a scycrapper in Kigali, Rwanda

The Rwandan Cabinet with the President Paul Kagame leading accepted the project named Kigali Financial Towers

According to Clare Akamanzi the chief executive officer of the Rwanda Development the project is projected to transform the city into a regional business hub

“They will build one of the buildings for the Kigali International Financial Centre (KIFC), and the idea is for it to be a state-of-the-art real estate project with a hotel that can accommodate people working at the centre,” Akamanzi said.

A senior government official stated that the Kigali Financial Towers would lead the regional financial center

“If Rwanda becomes a financial centre, staff will travel a lot so you always need a hotel nearby where those people can stay,” she noted.

The design is set to be finalized by 2021 and the whole project is set to be finished within three years
