Radio presenter and comedian Felix Odiwour, alias Jalang’o has revealed that he will be running for a public office in the 2022 General Election.
Speaking during an interview with radio presenter Billy Miya, the comedian and show host revealed that he will vie for the Langata parliamentary seat.
“You are looking at Lang’ata MP, I am not incoming, when they mention MPs names, know that you will hear Jalang’o Jalang’o,” he said.
On why he has decided to run for a public office, Jalang’o said he was tired of crying for change yet he can make the change himself.
“It is hard for a common mwananchi to bring that change we are all looking for but not for a politician. It is easy to bring that change if you are in politics and not out,” he said.
Further, the self taught radio presenter also said his current job at Radio Africa’s Kiss 100 will be his final journey on radio.
Jalang’o said he will use the chance as an exit plan into politics.
“No, I cannot go to Radio Maisha because this is my last journey on radio. You see I have started my ventures. It has always been in my plans to own a media entity,” he said.
Jalang’o made his second debut on Kiss 100 on Monday, July 13.
The funnyman was in his element as he hosted the morning show dubned Kamene and Jalas, alongside Kamene Goro.
Jalang’o’s radio career kicked off at Kiss 100 back then when he teamed with Caroline Mutoko to host the morning show.
He then left the station to join Radio Maisha where he hosted a morning show alongside Alex Mwakideu, before leaving to join Jeff Koinange on Hot 96.
He then left Hot 96 to reunite with Alex Mwakideu on Milele FM, where he worked until recently when he was fired.
Jalang’o is among a number of high flying public figures and politicians who have expressed interest in the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat.
Others include city lawyer Steve Ogola and the current MP Nixon Korir.
