Jackson Kibor: ‘Men’s Conference’ Chairman Dies in Eldoret

Popular Eldoret farmer, businessman-cum-politician Jackson Kiprotich Kibor is dead.

Kibor, who was in his 80s died on Wednesday, March 16 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Eldoret. 

The businessman had been using medical oxygen since October 2020 after he contracted COVID-19. 

He had an oxygen cylinder at his home and another in his vehicle for use whenever he ventured out for treatment or business.

Kibor was recently admitted at St. Luke’s Hospital where doctors diagnosed him with kidney failure.

The wealthy businessman has been in the Intensive Care Unit for some time before doctors confirmed his death on Wednesday.

Kibor, popularly nicknamed the Chairman of the Men’s Conference, was famed for good and controversial reasons.

At one time the businessman hit headlines for divorce cases as well as physical confrontations with his children over his vast wealth.

In 2017, an Eldoret court  allowed Kibor to divorce his third wife about a year after divorcing his second wife with whom they had been married for over 50 years. He later married a fourth wife.

Hailed by a section of Kenyan men as a masculinity symbol, Kibor would trend during Valentine’s Day as men embarked on the imaginary men’s conference they would be attending chaired by the businessman.

Kibor is survived by over 20 children.
