3,000 internship positions are up for grabs in the civil service. The Public Service Commission has announced that interviews for the position will commence Tuesday, September 3.
The interns are expected to ease the employment crisis in the civil service where 60,000 workers are scheduled to retire by June 2020.
“The commission has dispatched several teams headed by commissioners to various centres across the country to interview the over 8000 shortlisted candidates who applied for the positions that were advertised in July this year,” Said PSC Deputy Director of Communications Browne Kutswa in a statement.
The interns who will be taken in will be posted to various stations by end of month.
The move follows a decision by Parliament to revise PSC allocation to KSh 1 billion in the 2019/20 budget to facilitate the hiring of interns.
The programme is designed to provide an opportunity for graduates to garner hands on experience and bolster skills learned in class.
