It has now emerged that it is impossible for Wiper party to exit the Azimio One Kenya Alliance coalition.
On Sunday, May 15, Wiper party had announced that it will be heading to court to nullify the Azimio agreement and exit the coalition.
Makueni MP Dan Maanzo stated that the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) agreed to exit the coalition to pave way for Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidency.
“The agreement of Azimio-OKA has legal issues and we are approaching the High court tomorrow morning so that the court can guide the political parties correctly and we will be able to prove to the courts that the current agreement is illegal and unconstitutional,” said Maanzo.
However, the intended move will remain a desire since the deal signed by Azimio partners at KICC grounds on March 12 blocked parties from exiting the coalition.
In this case, Wiper cannot leave Azimio until three months after the August 9 General Elections.
Also, Wiper cannot leave the coalition six months to the elections or three months after without running afoul of the law.

As earlier reported on GOTTA.news, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr had revealed that Kalonzo would severe ties with Azimio flag bearer Raila Odinga and contest for the top seat in case the latter does not secure the Azimio running mate slot.
Kilonzo Jnr added that Wiper has started collecting signatures in preparation of Kalonzo’s presidential bid.

“We agreed that the signature collection should start immediately and be complete by Thursday; we are looking ahead. We cannot be begging all the time. We are ahead of the game,” Kilonzo Jnr said.
