Tanzanian star Rayvanny has left his fans in a state of confusion after hinting that he has left Wasafi music label.
Rumours of his exit was fueled by his decision to change his Instagram bio as noticed by some of his diehard fans.
Rayvanny omitted ‘signed under WCB Wasafi’ from his bio.
Fans termed the change an unofficial statement of his exit from WCB where he was signed six years ago by musician Diamond Platnumz.
In March, Diamond spoke on Rayvanny’s alleged exit from the label, noting that despite having his own label, he was still part of WCB.
He added that even if he decides to leave Wasafi they will still be on good terms.
“There’s nothing like that. He is a disciplined artiste, he’s one who has never disrespected me. He has his own label, he came to an understanding with WCB and he’s very educated
“If ever he leaves Wasafi, I don’t think he will ever leave in bad blood,” Diamond said.
In 2019, musician Harmonize disclosed that he had to pay KSh 22 million prior to leaving WCB as stipulated in his contract in order to get rights to his masters and the Harmonize name.
He said that he had to sell some of his assets including three of his houses to pay up.
Harmonize recently addressed the reason behind his exit from the label saying staying quiet on the matter has cost him his reputation.
“I was signed into a 10-year contract at WCB. Any money I earned within the contract, Diamond would take 60%, leaving me with 40%. I would have to add my own money to my share in order to push my music,” he said.
He also claimed that the WCB management slandered him after he started to become a household name in Tanzania, and was starting to be seen as rivaling Diamond.
