Harrison Mutisya on Why He Killed Wife Faith Mueni: ‘She’s Stubborn and Arrogant’

A 43-year-old man who was arrested in connection to the murder of his lover, Kenya Railway’s auditor Faith Mueni, has confessed to killing her.

Harrison Mutisya is said to have hacked to death the 35-year-old woman on Saturday, March 26, at their home in Kalama, Machakos County over a suspected love triangle.

Upon interrogation, after his arrest on the morning of Friday, April 1, at Miniamax Swallows lodging in Mlolongo town, Mutisya admitted to killing his wife but argued it was in self-defence.

The man told the police that his now late wife was very stubborn and arrogant.

“I killed my wife because she is very arrogant and she is very stubborn. So on the fateful night, she took a knife and wanted to stab me but I had to defend myself,” said Mutisya.

According to the Athi River sub-county criminal investigations officer John Kanda, Mutisya was nabbed after he had unsuccessfully attempted to commit suicide as sachets of poison were recovered in the lodging room he had checked in.

“It was reported to Mlolongo police station on 01/04/2022 at 0530 hours by one Margaret Nyambura, a lodging attendant of Miniamax Swallows, that there was an unknown person who had lodged in room number 3 on Thursday and had collapsed at the door within foam emanating from the mouth and nose,” read the police report.

Upon rushing to the scene, Kanda identified the person to be Mutisya, who was being sought by the DCI Machakos over Mueni’s murder.

He was then rushed to Kitengela Level 4 Hospital in Kajiado county where he was treated under tight security before being whisked to Machakos DCI for interrogation.

Tapping phone

Mueni’s younger sister Lucia, as earlier reported by GOTTA.news said Mutisya was a silent person who kept to himself, making it impossible to know if they had issues in their marriage.

However, from the information she gathered, she said the suspect used to tap into the deceased’s phone as he was very insecure.

According to an account corroborated by Lucia and Mutisya’s parents, the couple had supper together at Mutisya’s home.

But they failed to show up for breakfast by 9 am the following day as was the norm prompting Mutisya’a mother to go and check on her son and daughter-in-law only to find the door locked from the outside with a padlock.
