Gatundu South MP aspirant Geoffrey Njinji Murigi on Thursday, December 16, raised a whopping KSh 30 million in 30 minutes.
Murigi who is seeking to unseat outspoken Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria held an invite-only dinner which saw him raise KSh 1 million per minute.
The tables had been organized according to pledges that his friends and close associates had made, in an event that was graced by Interior PS Karanja Kibicho and other top government officials.
Those who sat at the Platinums, the highest table included PS Karanja Kibicho, Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and Industries (KNCCI) President Richard Ngatia, among others where they raised at least KSh 4 million each.
The other category was named ‘gold’ where those who were privileged to sit on that group contributed at least KSh 2 million each.
Speaking at the same venue, the Gatundu South MP aspirant exuded confidence that he will be elected to represent President Uhuru Kenyatta in the National Assembly after the 2022 General Election.
He said he will continue holding fundraisers to help him put up essential amenities that will be vital in making Gatundu South the best constituency in the country.
“I will make sure Gatundu South has a favorable climate for investments both locally and internationally which is good for our people,” Murigi said.
