Fridah Mwaka: Swahili news anchor leaves KTN after 3-year stint

KTN Swahili news anchor Fridah Mwaka has exited the Standard Group Owned station after 3-year stint.

The TV personality announced her departure from the station during her last Broadcast on Sunday, March 21.

Mwaka thanked her viewers for always supporting her during the period she worked at the station and further said that it was her pleasure working for KTN

She noted that it was time for her to pursue other interests.

Mwaka asked her fans not to get emotional as she promised that they will always meet and interact on other platforms or even on the streets.

“It has been my pride to walk with you on the journey of fun events. But more are the marks that have stuck in my heart for supporting me and making me better in the media industry. The time has come to leave KTN news Kenya. Allow me to say goodbye.” She wrote.

Mwaka joined KTN in 2018 replacing Mashirima Kapombe.

She also contested at the Presenter show which aired on KTN before landing job at the station.

Before bagging job at KTN, Mwaka worked at Kubamba Radio where she hosted Jikoni show alongside Music Producer Saint P.

Just months ago, KTN’s Grace Kuria bid goodbye to the station.

On Sunday, January 17, Kuria announced that she would no longer be working at the station after a two year stint.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to God, thank you to my family, thank you to Standard Group management, thank you to my colleagues and thank you to you the live viewer for all the love, for the criticism, and for the words of encouragement,” she said.
