Speaking in a phone interview with Citizen TV, the former Karimwaindu Primary School student noted that she never abandoned her books even when she was at home during the Covid-19 break.

According to the girl, she wants to become a neurosurgeon in future so that she can rescue patients who are suffering from head injuries.

After I go to Kenya High which is my dream school, I want to become a neurosurgeon because a lot of people have head damages and it has been hurtful for me to see Conjestina so I decided to become a neurosurgeon,” she said.

Mumo revealed that she was expecting to score 400 and above marks but never thought she would emerge the country’s top student.

“I didn’t expect something like this would happen at the end of today. I have been revising all this time. My father always told me that I can do it although I was expecting 400 and above,” she added.

The little one further adviced those who recorded poor performances to embrace positivity in life reminding them to put their talents in action.

“Don’t think because you got 200; you cannot become a boxer in life. There is that talent in you. Just look at the positive side of life; you can’t be good in education but can still be good in sports and drama. Don’t think because you perform poorly; you are not going to become a better person in the future,” she advised.

Her father, Paul Mumo praised her disclosing that she has been respectful, prayerful and hardworking.

We encouraged her with the teachers to be strong. We have seen her performance all along and were expecting 450 and above. When we saw her results we knew the exams were hard given the pandemic,” he added.
