Expeditions Maasai Safaris Sponsors Meru Man Scared by Fake Lion Shopping Bag for 3-Day Tour

Tours and Travel company Expeditions Maasai Safaris has sponsored a Meru man who mistook a Carrefour supermarket carrier bag with a lion.

Frankline Murimi who works as a farmhand sent residents of Kiangua village into a frenzy after claiming that the shopping bag was a lion hiding behind a leafy shrub.

It later turned out that the shopping bag had avocado seedlings in it which made it look filled up making it depict a lion’s head.

Following the incident that sparked reactions across social media, Expeditions Maasai Safaris has gifted Murimi and his boss Mary Mugambi a 3-day safari to the Maasai Mara.

In a Facebook post, an official from the travel agency said the trip will be fully sponsored.

“We found it a very heartwarming story and because we are a travel agency, tukasema ya kwamba tuwapatie hiyo fursa, muweze kuenda Maasai Mara siku tatu muweze kuona wanyama na hata simba wenyewe,” he said.

Speaking after receiving the good news, Mugambi thanked the company for the kind gesture towards herself and her worker.

“We are very happy and proud of this company for giving us this one chance to go on a tour to Maasai Mara to see all the animals that are found there including a lion
