Controversial comedian Eric Omondi has sparked mixed reactions following his latest statement on having a child and a wife.
Speaking in an interview on Wasafi TV, the comic claimed that he did not have kids despite a recent drama pitting him and journalist Jacque Maribe over the paternity of their alleged son, Zahari.
“I’ve been trying to get a wife from my show ‘Wife Material’ but I failed. I am turning 40 years old, sina mtu, sina mtoto, sina bibi. Sasa pia Arusha naomba nikiwachekesha msinisahau,” Eric said.
In November 2021, Maribe exposed Eric as a deadbeat dad after he announced that he is expecting a child with musician Miss P.
Following the announcement, the former Citizen TV news anchor noted that she was not amused by the news, further suggesting that the comic was an absent dad.
“Responsibility? @catewamaribe come I can’t speak. 7 years of responsibility,” Maribe said.
Eric fired back at Maribe claiming that she had been begging Maribe for 7 years for a DNA test to ascertain if he is the biological father to their son but she has refused.
“Roughly 4 months after the baby was born Jacque called me and asked me if I would help or be part of the baby’s life. I asked her for a DNA test so that I could comfortably be part of the baby’s life and support fully,” she said.
“She got very offended and Refused my request. For 7 seven years I have begged Jacque to allow us to have a DNA Test and she has continually refused! I don’t mind supporting the child but if you want me to be fully present and supportive if you want me to be a father. Then we have to do the right thing.”
Following the online feud, the two met and sort out their indifferences but the latest remarks by Eric could mean more trouble.
