Kenyan envoromentalist Anita Soina has disclosed plans to vie for the Kajiado North parliamentary seat in the highly-anticipated 2022 General Elections.
The 21-year-old announced her plans through her social media page where she noted that youth should take up leadership positions to help bring change to the people.
“It’s here. People over profits. Every day it hurts me to see what the people go through. Born to a Maasai dad from Kajiado North, as I trace back to my roots to understand my culture and as a young leader who understands some of the challenges facing the people, I have decided to do this
“To me, the first step towards solving a problem is getting to that position of a problem solver. Twende Bunge tupiganie haki za wapiga kura!” she wrote.
Soina joins the list of celebrities who have declared their interest in politics among them radio presenter Jalang’o who showed interest in the Langata parliamentary seat in the coming 2022 General Election.
“I am going to be the next MP of Langata. Youths change your votes. Come and vote for us to build a new Langata. I am campaigning for myself
“I am very serious, I am the next MP of Langata. Mark this day. I don’t go for things I can’t get. And once I have I said it start getting used to your future MP,” he said.
Comedian MC Jessy too revealed he would be vying to be the next Member Of Parliament of South Imenti Constituency.
“Over the weekend I was grateful and humbled by the Elders that raised me and who are from my Home Constituency of South Imenti when they honored and bestowed on me the blessings and responsibilities to lead South Imenti Constituency as the Member of Parliament
“Our society must make it right and possible for the Elders not to fear the Young or feel deserted by them. The mantle has been passed and each generation must safeguard it and extend it further,” he wrote.
