Emotional Moment as David Sankok Weeps Bitterly Over Son’s Death

Nominated Member of Parliament David Sankok is seemingly yet to come to terms with the demise of his 15-year-old son Memusi Sankok.

This is evident in an emotional video that emerged on social media showing the lawmaker weeping bitterly while being consoled by his family members.

In the heartbreaking clip, Sankok is seen holding his chin and momentarily wiping the tears which are freely flowing from his eyes.

Another person is seen praying for the legislator for God to grant him strength during this trying moment.

The video elicited sad reactions on social media.

Hellen Gatuku said: “Death of a child must be the most painful thing for any parent. May the Lord give fortitude to Hon. David Sankok and his family to bear the loss of their son.”

Wambûi Hez said: “The pain of losing a child is unbearable. Only God can comfort him. My heartfelt condolences to the family.”

Janet Wandeto said: “Very sad, Jehovah wipe away his tears, comfort the family for the loss…may his soul rest in internal peace.”

Beverlyne Aligula said: “Death cuts a heart deep… It reaps off the soul. Death truly is painful. May God be his and his family’s solace. So sorry for your loss sir. May the boy rest in peace.”

Nashilluh Parkirre said: “No parent is perfect in bringing up children.. Parenthood isn’t easy at all, lets pray for our children, especially teenagers! May his soul Rip.”


Killed himself

According to the police, Memusi turned his father’s gun on himself on the afternoon of Monday, May 2.

Prior to the fatal incident, the deceased, who was a Form Two student and who was yet to return to school, had an altercation with his father over his return to school.

The teenager was to return to school last week but he did not and this was the cause of his argument with his father that culminated in him taking his own life.
