DP Ruto slam Standard newspaper over sensitive headline on BBI

Following a sensitive headline on The Standard newspaper, Deputy President William Ruto has said that he loves Kenya that he would not want to engage in any type of ‘war’

He continued saying that instead of the war they could go for a win-win agreement on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) referendum

The newspaper’s headline stated that the BBI creator’s President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have taken the documents numbers war to him

Taking his reply to social media, the DP said that it was better to have a contested referendum that would bring an outcome of lose-lose

He said that it was possible to have a non-contested referendum

“I LOVE this country enough NEVER to be part of any ‘war.’ Not when there is a real possibility for a WIN-WIN CONSENSUS beckoning. An ‘US vs THEM, ‘YES/NO’ contest that will lead to LOSE-LOSE outcome is UNNECESSARY & UNWARRANTED. A NON-CONTESTED referendum is possible. INAWEZEKANA,” tweeted Deputy President William Ruto.

According to the Standard newspaper the BBI has already is set to collect five million signatures on Thursday

The report indicated that the move was to start another battle with Ruto
