DP Ruto reacts to Mukhisa Kituyi’s alleged nude video

Deputy President William Ruto has reacted to former United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Secretary-General Dr Mukhisa Kituyi’s alleged nude video that brought social media to a standstill.

Speaking on Saturday, June 19 during a roadside rally in West Pokot, the DP warned against having a mistress (mpango wa kando) maintaining that it is better to stick with one partner.

Referring to Kituyi’s leaked video, the DP stated that there is too much trouble that comes with having a mistress.

“Kama huko na nafasi ya mpango kamili, uko na haja na mpango na ya kando? Wachana na mpanga ya kando, iko na kisirani mingi (If you have a chance of one partner, why do you need another one? Leave mpango wa kando, it has a lot of troubles. You saw how the other guy found himself in trouble for having a mpango wa kando),” he said.

This came a day after Kenya Films Classification Board (KFCB) boss Ezekiel Mutua defended Kituyi, arguing that it is illegal to record and release inappropriate videos of other people.

In a statement he shared on his Twitter page, Mutua, also known as the moral cop said making and releasing of such videos is against the Film and Stage Plays act.

“Making videos of others while naked, with or without their approval, is a breach of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222. “No film or class of film for public exhibition shall be made without a filming license from the Board.” Now you know,” wrote Mutua.

The KFCB boss made a separate tweet describing Kituyi as a globally respected leader, bashing those involved in leaking the explicit video.

“Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi is a globally respected intellectual powerhouse and one of Kenya’s best leadership brands. He’s an elder, a husband and a father

“To drag his private moments – real or perceived, into the public is evidence of how low we have sank as society. Sad,” he added.
