DP Ruto condemns Wanjigi’s stoning in Migori

Speaking in a roadside rally in Kakamega County, the DP called out a section of leaders who he accused of organising political chaos, terming it primitive political tactics.

DP Ruto argued that it was primitive for any leader to organise youth to attack and humiliate their opponents.

“These young people of Kenya want the job they want to do business they and own their enterprises, and you can not misuse them to throw stones so that you can protect your backyard,” said the DP.

Wanjigi’s entourage was stoned in Rongo, Migori County during his Nyanza tour on Friday, September 17.

Prior to the stoning incident, the businessman had held a brief press briefing at the Kisumu International Aiport, where he launched a scathing attack on ODM leader Raila Odinga.

This came barely a day after Wanjigi issued a statement on the same.

Speaking to the media, the businessman accused some ODM party officials of being behind the incident that saw his car pelted with stones.

Wanjigi urged his party to exercise democracy and give him the right to speak his mind even when they do not agree with his sentiments.

“It is a sad day for democracy in this party. You may not like my message, but you must defend my right to say it

“I can assure you that there is no interference from outside of ODM in what happened. I also urge the security agencies to take up this matter,” Wanjigi stated.
