Celebrated Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, born Naseeb Abdul, has declared his interest to feature Barbadian songbird Rihanna in one of his albums.
The Tetema hitmaker disclosed that he admires Rihanna’s work ethic and would love to collaborate with her and make what he termed a masterpiece.
Speaking to BBC, Diamond, who is currently in the United States to promote his extended play (EP), First Of All (FOA), disclosed that his team had reached out to managers of the heavily pregnant singer to discuss the possibility of a collaboration.
He added that the discussions were fruitful and have reached some level of understanding.
“I would love to work with Rihanna if not in my current album then the next one. My team has already initiated talks with her management and the discussions have been fruitful. We have reached some level of understanding,” said Diamond.
However, the 31-year-old said the perfect time to work with the Umbrella crooner would be after the delivery of a baby she is expecting with her hubby Asap Rocky.
“With the Rihanna situation at the moment, she could still feature on my current album but my best bet would be on my next album,” he added.
It is worth noting that Rihanna reportedly charges KSh 115,600,000 to collaborate on a project.
On Wednesday, April 20, while in the States, Diamond held a listening party for the 12-track EP that has two songs, “Mtasubiri” and “Fine”.
His interest in working with Rihanna elicited mixed reactions.
Akinyi Omollo said: “Waah there is something very wrong with Kenya anyway congrats Diamond.”
