DCI Summons MP Junet Mohammed over Raila Chopper Attack Incident

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has summoned Suna East MP Junet Mohammed over the stoning of ODM leader Raila Odinga’s chopper.

Through his social media platforms, the MP shared a message from a DCI officer who summoned him to the DCI Headquarters on Tuesday, April 5.

Junet had accompanied Odinga to Mzee Jackson Kibor’s burial ceremony in Kabenes, Soy constituency when they were stoned by a group of rowdy youths.

In an interview with Citizen TV, the MP said they were mid-air when the attack happened.

“Today we almost got killed in soy constituency Uasin Gishu County at the Burial of Mzee Jackson Kibor. Our chopper was completely destroyed and we had to look for alternative means mid-air,” Junet said.

The incident came hours after Raila was heckled in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County while attempting to sell his candidature to residents.

The ODM leader was forced to end his rally prematurely after a group of rowdy youth started heckling him, chanting the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) slogans.

Raila, in his speech detailed to the crowd what he will do when elected the president, but when he asked them to say ‘Inawezekani’, the locals responded ‘Ruto’.

“As politicians, we should desist from hiring goons to heckle others even at funerals. It is not African. They have questioned the youths and those who ferried youth are known but they have targeted those associated with Deputy President William Ruto.”
