DCI raid Senators Malala, Lang’at homes at 3 am (video)

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on raided the home of Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala on Monday morning, demanding to arrest him.

According to a video sourced by, then officers raided the Senator’s home around 3 am.

The officers led by an inspector who identified himself as Dominic Muli claimed they had been sent by a Pius Gitahi from the Special Unit.

Also, detectives from the DCI accompanied by police officers raided Bomet Senator Dr Christopher Langat’s home in Nyayo Estate, Embakasi demanding to arrest him as well.

The office held their ground from Sunday evening at around 10 pm.

By the time of publishing the officers were still camping outside his gate.

According to yet another video seen by, Lang’at could be seen talking to the officers through the window at around 3 am.

Speaking outside Langat’s home, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen said that the Senators were being targeted for opposing the Commission for Revenue Allocation (CRA) revenue sharing formula.

Murkomen who had earlier revealed that five senators were targeted for arrest.

He, however, vowed that they would not allow Senate proceedings to continue in case one of the senators was arrested.

Among the senators who have opposed the Commission for Revenue Allocation (CRA) formula despite their counties gaining include Mithika Linturi (Meru), Christopher Langat (Bomet), Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Cleophas Malala (Kakamega).
