The recently concluded Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan were one of a kind. In the competitions, Kenya emerged number one in Africa after bagging ten medals, four golds, four silver and two bronze.
Outstanding performances were showcased by team Kenya with Eliud Kipchoge retaining his title.
Well, while Kenya has manages over the years to win medals in the Olympics, there are other countries that have never won the medals.
These countries are not only in Africa but in Asia, North and South America, and Europe.
Africa again tops the list when broken by continents. It has more countries that are yet to win the medal.
Even with their participations, Libya, Chad, Gambia, Guinea, Cape Verde, Madagascar, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Congo, South Sudan and Somalia have never won any medals.
Burkina Faso was among the list but luckily stepped out this years after its own, Hugues Fabrice Zango made history by winning a medal in the men’s triple jump.
After Africa, Asia comes second. Countries in Asia that are hoping to win medals are, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Nepal.
Countries in Oceania then follows Asia. These countries are Guam and Papua New Guinea and are hopeful they will win a medal in the next Olympics.
Europe then comes second last and only Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina remain microstates without a medal.
In South America, only one country remains waiting to win the medal, the country is Bolivia.
