COTU boss Atwoli blasts journalists after DP Ruto’s intense interview

Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) secretary-general Francis Atwoli on Monday, June 28 slammed journalists for giving politicians her termed unfit to rule the country interviews.

In a scathing attack aimed at Deputy President William Ruto, the COTU boss blasted a section of media houses for going contrary to his warning.

“When I tell you so and so is not fit to be the president, you go against me and invite the same fella on your televisions and you know the person you are talking to will be able to put the Central Bank of Kenya on his back and run away with it. Shenzi sana,” said Atwoli.

The long-serving COTU boss was addressing journalists at the Eastern Africa Journalists summit when he made the remarks.

Atwoli’s remarks came barely a week after KTN hosted DP Ruto where he discissed an array of issues among them the 2022 General Election.

Speaking to KTN presenter Sophia Wanuna, the DP stated that he is doubtful President Uhuru Kenyatta would support a NASA principal in the run-up to the 2022 elections.

“I doubt the president would ever tell anybody that kind of thing,” he stated.
