Popular comedian Erastus Ayieko better known as Flaqo has shared pros and cons before he joined comedy.
During a conversation with Churchill show’s Churchill Ndambuki on the journey edition, the content creator revealed that his dream was to become a neurosurgeon.
His mother on the other side pressured him to become a doctor but he opted for comedy which his mother was totally against.
Flaqo revealed that during his high school times he tried almost everything just to know the things he was good at.
The comedian stated that he tried multiple highschool clubs and societies but only music group was perfect for him.
The vibrant entertainer completed highschool and joined Jaramogi Oginga University to pursue public health.
“I tried following my dreams but I never knew how things were happening. I once went to perform in school but did not know the crowd would not like it, they threw bottles at me and from then I made a decision to stop doing art. From the second year, I never said anything,” he said.
Even after, his mother kept reminding him about focusing on studies and become a doctor.
His mother kept referring to his comedies as cartoons as she was unsure if he would make it.
“My mum used to fight me a lot. Even when I moved to Nairobi, I remember I was a bit famous but very broke. I would tell her to help me even with KSh 1000 and she would call me and tell me, ‘go and look for a job, you have graduated from the university, stop doing your cartoon things and go get a job’.’‘
Flaqo revealed that today her mother does not fight her anymore and she is happy as her son can make good money and share to her some.
