CAS Mwangangi’s New Hairstyle Sparks Mixed Reactions

Ministry of Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi stunned many on Wednesday, March 23 after stepping out with a new hairstyle. 

Appearing for a press conference at Afya House, the CAS showed up with beautifully chopped hair contrary to her signature wigs and planted hair. 

CAS Mwangangi dyed her hair platinum blonde to complete her new hairdo. 

The CAS rocked a floral shirt with a black blazer and a pair of earrings that matched her hair. 

The CAS’s new hairstyle sparked reactions with netizens divided by her decision to go for the new hairstyle. 

Lorene Eva: I guess she has started greying so to hide the tu whites hair akaona hii dye ni better option. You better learn to embrace them. 

Christabel Wekesa: Live your life girl. You owe no one explanation doktari. You are very smart na hiyo blonde. 

Naomi Njoki: Didn’t come out very well, she is even looking very aged.

In a past interview, CAS Mwangangi opened up on job pressure when COVID-19 pandemic emerged disclosing that at the time, they hardly slept because they could received texts from Health CS Mutahi Kagwe even at the wee hours of the night.

“We hardly slept during this past year. The minister, Mutahi Kagwe, often joked that he was able to send texts at 2 am, 3 am, 4 am, 5 am and to his surprise, most times, we would reply to him almost immediately,” she said.  

She also opened up that being part of the team that developed COVID-19 protocols the had to work for long hours leaving them exhausted. 

“Were there effects of no sleep? Of course yes, there are times we really struggled because of the exhaustion. You felt exhausted, but then the country was in a crisis, and we needed to brace ourselves and fight the pandemic,” Mwangangi said.
