The deejay took his final breath on Wednesday, January 19 at the Nairobi Hospital where he was rushed after allegedly taking rat poison at Capital FM offices.
In an update on Facebook, one Wairimu Kimani disclosed that DJ Lithium deleted all his social media accounts and wrote a suicide note before taking his own life.
“The Capital FM fraternity is in shock after their spinmaster, Alex Nderi aka, DJ Lithium took rat poison in the media house offices, yesterday night
“He passed away while receiving treatment at Nairobi hospital. According to sources, the deejay reportedly deleted all his social media accounts before writing a suicide note,” Kimani wrote on Facebook.
After writing the note, DJ Lithium is said tohave proceeded to the washrooms where he is suspected to have taken the poison shortly before walking back to the offices where he collapsed.
According to Kahawa Tungu, his unresponsive body was discovered at the radio station’s IT offices.
“He then went to end his life when he went to the bathroom leaving behind his suicide note at his desk, one that colleagues said would be left for the family to open
“After he took the poison, the deejay walked back to the offices and collapsed, with his workmates trying desperately to resuscitate him. They even called first responders, AMREF but it was too late,” Kimani added.
The late DJ used to spin on Club capital every Friday from 11:00 PM to 2:00 AM and on the Jam Fridays from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
