Drama ensued in Lamu on Thursday, May 20 after a man in the crowd tried to reach President Uhuru Kenyatta during the official opening of Lamu Port.
The man tried to reach the Head of State while he was giving his speech, forcing Uhuru’s bodyguards to intercept him.
According to a video sighted by GOTTA.news, Uhuru stopped his speech and moved a step to the side when he noticed the man approaching him.
After his bodyguards whisked the man away, he apologised for the interruption before proceeding with his speech.
“I am sorry, kila mtu na mambo yake,” he said.
Uhuru was in Lamu to preside over the operationalization of the first berth of the new Lamu Port.
He was accompanied by CSs Ukur Yatani (Treasury), Betty Maina (Trade), Eugene Wamalwa (Devolution) and James Macharia (Infrastructure).
In a separate story reported on GOTTA.news, drama ensued in Mathioya in October 2020 after a man reportedly tried to attack Deputy President William Ruto.
The DP was leaving an event at Rurii Stadium, in Mathioya when the man in question approached him then lifted his hand in an attempt to attack him but was stopped and pinned down by security detail.
After the threat, the DP smiled indicating that all is well as he proceeded to his vehicle.
