Bodaboda rider rewarded with scholarship, KSh 1 million after returning lost KSh 5.5 million

A youthful boda boda rider has been rewarded after returning KSh 5.5 to a businesswoman after he found it on the road.

The young man from Liberia who was identified as Emmanuel Tolue earned praises after returning the said amount to one Musu Yancy after she appealed on the radio.

After returning the money, Tolue met President George Weah where he was rewarded with a numerous gifts.

Before rewarding him, President Weah thanked Tolue for his honestly in returning the money despite the financial difficulties in the western Africa country.

Weah gifted Tolue a scholarship to study up to the masters level at any institution in the country, adding that he would bestow upon Tolue Liberia’s highest Orders of Distinction for his honesty.

Weah also presented the 18-year-old with an envelope containing KSh 1.1 million.

“I am hereby presenting you, herewith enclosed, an amount of KSh 1.1 million, as well as two brand-new motorcycles for you to improve your circumstances and sustain yourself financially,” he said.

Tolue said after returning the money, he received threats from strangers with a section of his friends mocked him claiming that he would never get ruch in his lifetime.

“Since my decision, when I have a breakdown on the highway, and some of my rider friends see me, they don’t help. They say I acted stupid to find and return the money. They tell me I will never get rich in my lifetime,” she said.
