Sauti Sol’s vocalist Bien-Aimé Baraza has disclosed that he expects not to be the only man in the life of his wife Chikwere Onwukwe aka Chiki’s forever.
Bien opened up about his uncommon approach to relationship with Chiki while at an interview with YouTuber Twenty Five.
The singer revealed that he has no problem if Chiki decides to move on with the man she has a crush on.
“After being married to Chiki for 30 years, I don’t expect to be the only dude that she will be with. If she goes and meets the crush of her life, jibambe babe,” Bien said.
Bien also noted that his relationship with Chiki is not an open one and further explained his remark saying that at that point the real deal-breaker in that relationship would not be intimacy.
“I am not in an open relationship, all I am saying is at that point, the deal breaker should not intimacy but businesses and the things we have built together,” He stated.
“I am my own man. When you are with somebody, you are not meant to own, but experience them,” he said.
While opining that relationship should not be owning your partner, Bien adds that people should not change from what they did in the past to what only their partner likes after marriage.
“I see many of my friends change after getting married. For example, a guy stops having time for his friends.
You expect him to be home all the time and split the work with you. Then, you expect him to dress in the same clothes as you and take pics. I don’t like that,” he said.
The lead singer further reveals that it’s impossible for any person to own another person as we all have our lives.
“I don’t own her. Even if she wakes up and go to Brazil next week I will support her and just ask how we will make it work. I hate it when I date someone who is not their own person,” he said.
