Betty Kiptum excited after joining KBC, says previous job almost sunk her to depression

KBC news anchor Betty Kiptum has disclosed that she quit her previous job as it was leading her into depression.

Betty, who recently joined KBC after the channel’s rebrand said she was happy to work in the new space where she is peaceful.

She disclosed that at her former job, she was in the line to getting promoted but decided to exit as it was digging her grave.

Kiptum noted that she would always choose being a TV girl, as that’s her passion and professionalism.

‘I resigned from a job that almost sank me into depression and went home without a job. A month later I got the AL job.

I resigned from a job I was up for a big promotion to follow my news anchoring/journalism passion,” Betty told TUKO.

On Monday,June 21 Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) channel 1 unveiled a new look after months of strategy and planning.

The revamp will occur not only on KBC channel 1 TV station but also Radio Taifa and the KBC English Service. They will all have fresh presenters who will treat their vieers to entertaining, captivating and nostalgic content that was almost drowning.

The top broadcaster is making headlines after poaching bigwig presenters who have been in the media landscape for years with an aim of taking over stakes in the dynamic broadcast industry.

Among the legendary anchor that have landed new jobs at the channel are, Tom Mboya, Cynthia Nyamai, Shiksha Arora, John Kioria Fred Indimuli, Juma Ballo, Harith Salim and Nancy Onyancha.
