Betty Barasa: Police conclude slain KBC video editor was targeted by assassins

Police investigating the murder of Kenya Broadcast Corporation (KBC) video editor Betty Barasa now believe she was targeted by assassins.

The officers said the gruesome killing was a well planned assassination as she was the only one targeted out of six other family members in her house during the night she was shot dead.

Postmortem results revealed that Bettt died as a result of a single gunshot to the face.

Kajiado North police commander Patrick Manyasi said detectives recovered a bullet head will undergo forensic analysis.

The analysis will help detectives arrest the suspects who are still at large.

“What we promise is that we are working so hard, we are doing so well, and we will be able to at least have a break through,” said Manyasi.

As earlier reported by, the video editor was shot dead by thugs at her home in Ololua, Ngong on Wednesday night, April 7.

According to eye witnesses, Betty arrived at home at around 8:20 pm when thugs who were at the gate forced their entry into her compound after the house help opened it.

The gang then followed her to the parking areas and ordered her to take them to the house where the rest of the family were.

They also instructed her to take them to the master bedroom upstairs as they demanded for money and other valuables.

A gunman who had accompanied the deceased upstairs reportedly argued with her moments before gunshots rendered the air.

Betty was shot twice in the head.
