Baringo: Hawker caught on camera being beaten by county employee lands permanent job

A female hawker caught on camera being assaulted by a street cleaner in Baringo County is over the moon after landing a permanent job.

In the video, the cleaner could be seen shaking the lady’s head vigorously before beating her and at some point hitting her head at the corner of the table.

After the video went viral, it emerged that the lady is a university graduate but shebha a never secured a job forcing her to resort to hawking foodstuffs to make ends meet.

It also emerged that she is a partial orphan and taking care of her siblings all by herself.

“Unknown to many, the young girl, partial orphan, is a graduate who for lack of employment decided to lock her degree in her box at home

“She hit the streets of Kabarnet town to sell boiled eggs, sausages, smokies and githeri to eke a living,” Lex K Ander wrote on Facebook.

Following the development, Baringo Senator, Gideon Moi is said to have watched the video and asked to find out more about her and touched by her story, he gave the lady a Permanent and Pensionable (PnP) job.

“We hope with this gesture from Gideon Moi, we have opened a chapter that will transform her families fortunes!” Lex added.
