Bahati opens up on why he ditched gospel industry

Musician Kevin Kioko popularly known as Bahati has revealed that he is much peaceful in the secular industry than hew in in the gospel industry.

According to the entertainer, a lot of gospel artists in Kenya are hypocrites something that he never wanted to be associated with.

Bahati said that most secular artists are close to God that those in the gospel.

While at an interview, the singer noted that he even though singing secular songs, has a better connection with God that any other gospel singer.

When asked if he is a gospel musician or a secular musician, Bahati said that he is a general entertainer but would not want to be associated with the gospel industry.

He supported his statement saying that from the day he converted to secular he has not faced any scandals unlike previously in the gospel industry.

Call me an entertainer. Don’t call me a Gospel artiste because that term has been misused, but I am so real with God. I am spiritual. I am deeply connected with God than most of the Gospel artists.

“When I was in the Gospel industry, I had scandals because they were created. People fought me in the Gospel industry. Nowadays, I don’t have scandals,” Bahati said in a TV interview.
