Celebrated musician Bahati has recently addressed continued allegations that he quit the Holy ways of God for worldly things.
Bahati felt offended by a section of Kenyans who in multiple times sent him a throwback video where he swore never to leave God’s side.
In the video which has since been used to ridicule the singer, he could be seen surrendering to God and vowing never to backslide. At that time he had just won the prestigious Groove Awards
However, many Kenyans found fault with him after his recent move and ditching the gospel industry for secular.
Bahati responded to all accusations saying he has never changed and urged netizens not judge him by his songs.
“DEAR GOD!!! …. I have Seen People Send & Tag Me to this Video. But Because Father You Know My Heart & Reasons You Know this is Still Me; this are still are My Words and You Know I Have Never Changed.” Bahati wrote.
This comes days ago after the musician revealed why he ditched the gospel industry.
According to the entertainer, a lot of gospel artists in Kenya are hypocrites something that he never wanted to be associated with.
While at an interview, the singer noted that he even though singing secular songs, has a better connection with God that any other gospel singer.
When asked if he is a gospel musician or a secular musician, Bahati said that he is a general entertainer but would not want to be associated with the gospel industry.
He supported his statement saying that from the day he converted to secular he has not faced any scandals unlike previously in the gospel industry.
Call me an entertainer. Don’t call me a Gospel artiste because that term has been misused, but I am so real with God. I am spiritual. I am deeply connected with God than most of the Gospel artists.
“When I was in the Gospel industry, I had scandals because they were created. People fought me in the Gospel industry. Nowadays, I don’t have scandals,”
